Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer of Irish descent, was a well-known figure. The passionate, fiery roles she appeared in myriad of American films were appreciated by the green-eyed beauty who had flaming hair and flaming eyes. Her gorgeous appearance and natural beauty was well-loved. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her characters onscreen reflected her brave, strong spirit who fought to survive and gain recognition in a male-dominated world. She described herself as "the tough Irish girl" and she did not sacrifice her respect for others to secure the roles that she was entitled to by merit. She stood up for injustices and unfair treatment of women actors throughout her film career. She also gained lots of fans. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", was published in 2004 and provided an open story of her entire life and the challenges she faced in her climb to achieve success. She was an adventurous lady who wasn't afraid of performing herself stunts. She appeared in more than 60 films, and was a popular star all around the globe. After she left Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. He was a former brigadier and chief pilot, and was the first transatlantic pilot to be a pioneer. After a few years of their marriage, she decided to finally quit her job. The joy she felt was only temporary when Blair died in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. In the same year , she was diagnosed with uterine carcinoma and required surgery immediately. The cancer eventually cleared. She suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memories loss as well as diabetes type 2 throughout the years. O'Hara aged 95, peacefully died in Boise on October 24, 2015.
